Our Story

Learn more about Kaffeine + K9s.

sit. stay. sip.

Kaffeine & K9s is a dog-friendly coffee shop that offers a wide variety of yummy treats, including coffee, baked goods, and gourmet dog treats. Located a few miles from Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, the café caters to both humans and their four-legged friends. It is a place for them to enjoy some quality time together, while indulging in some yummy treats.

At Kaffeine & K9s, we recognize that for some customers, having a good time means bringing along their furry friend. We understand how important it is for some dog-owners to find a welcoming café that provides amenities and products for both pet and owner. We encourage spending quality time together and provide tennis balls and other toys to play with.

The café partners with local animal shelters, such as IndyHumane, to host monthly adoption events. Every Monday through Thursday, 15% of each purchase will be donated to local animal shelters. The café will also have a bin for donations such as dog food, blankets, and toys. Please consider donating to those dogs less fortunate.

Mission Statement: To provide our dog-lovers the ultimate dog-friendly coffee shop experience, while helping find forever homes for those four-legged friends in local animal shelters.

"What's better than coffee and dogs? Absolutely nothing."

Hello!

My name is Ally Balan. I opened this café after my dog Ferguson died in 2019. I wanted to combine my two passions: coffee and dogs. I opened it with the hopes that owners could spent more time with their furry friends.

As a Butler University Bulldog, I have always wanted to open up a café in the fun neighborhood of Broad Ripple, just minutes from the college campus. I know how much Butler students love dogs and how many Broad Ripple residents have furry kids of their own.

Come say hi!

Coffee + Dogs

A podcast about dogs that was recorded at a coffee shop? How perfect!

Watch the video below to learn more about studies show that when dogs gaze into the eyes of their owners, the oxytocin love circuit of both parties actually increases. This strengthens the emotional bond between dogs and humans. In this episode of The Brain Coffee Podcast, Washington University neurosurgeons at Barnes-Jewish Hospital discuss the emotional intelligence of dogs.
